Q: Who is included in this listing?
A: UW-Madison alumni of UW-Madison's study abroad program are in this database. UW students who studied abroad on another school's program will not be included. Nor will students from other schools who studied abroad at the same time and place as you.

Q: Do I need to complete all of the fields for a search?
A: No, just fill in what you know. You can search with any combination of fields, but must make one selection.

Q: Do I search by married or maiden name?
A: This database lists everyone by their name at the time they studied abroad (typically maiden name). WAA's online directory can also be searched by maiden name, but will give you the person's married name as well.

Q: What does “year” mean?
A: This is the year of the study abroad program (not graduation year). The year on file refers to the calendar year in which the academic year ended. Summer sessions are the last portion of the academic year.

Examples: Academic year July 1982–June 1983; search on 1983
Fall semester September 1978–December 1978; search on 1979
Summer session 1999; search on 1999

Q: The search results show me on the wrong program or in the wrong year. How can this be fixed?

Q. How do find current contact information on someone I have found in a search?
A. Once you've identified people to contact, go to our online alumni directory to find available contact information.
