East of the Willow Creek bridge the Willow Creek Woods runs from the beach at Willow Creek along the lakeshore inside the Path to the bridge and includes the group of old oaks across the Path adjacent to the Native American Mounds. By their growth pattern, it can be inferred that these oaks were probably open grown and may be a savanna remnant.
