Wally Bauman Woods

The Wally Bauman Woods, formerly known as Lower Eagle Heights Woods, was preserved as a result of an extensive campaign to "Save the Woods.”  It was named after Wally Bauman, a Dane County Supervisor, who was a strong advocate of the preservation of natural areas.

This 3-acre woods is bounded on the north by condominiums, on the south by the North Shore Woods, and is between Lake Mendota Drive and the south shore of the lake.  The Dane County Natural Heritage Foundation holds a permanent conservation easement on the property.
