An accurate and thorough study of the present vegetation
of the Preserve is critical for the development of thoughtful
management plans. An initial brief vegetation survey was
done by a small group of graduate students in the summer
of 2001. The Friends wishes to maintain a continuing database
of plants found in different areas of the Preserve. We
also need volunteers to collect phenological data (dates
of leafing, flowering and seed production). The development
and maintenance of a permanent Preserve database is a project
waiting to be developed. Volunteers who are willing to
collect data and help organize this project are welcome.
